One of the most important defenders of Real Madrid, Pepe is in doubt of playing against Barcelona in next El Clasico due to hamstring injury. The Portuguese defender is currently not in action that could force him out of El Clasico next month. Pepe got injured during game against Alaves and was substituted. Medical reports have stated that he could miss about one month of football action.
Injured Pepe Could Miss El Clasico Due To Hamstring Injury
It is not clearly stated that Pepe will miss El Clasico or not, but his injury is a serious concern that could cost him four weeks. This means Pepe could miss six matches including International break of FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifiers, Champions League and Copa Del Rey matches.

In a statement by Real Madrid “After tests carried out today on Pepe at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a grade two muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his left leg. His recovery will continue to be monitored.”

Pepe was named as the man of the match against France in the final of UEFA Euro 2016. It was the first ever major title of Portugal in which Pepe played a crucial role. Before the international championship, he won UEFA Champions League 2015-16.
Real Madrid are currently at the top of the league table with 24 points in first ten games. Los Blancos are the only undefeated team in this season of La Liga. They have won seven games and drew remaining three.
This season’s first El Clasico will be played at Camp Nou, the home ground of Barcelona on 3 December 2016.
